Your “external brain”: Evernote

I love Evernote!  What is it?  Well, in one of their videos, it is referred to as your “external brain”.  Anytime you see something online you want to remember, you can clip it and save it to Evernote.  You can easily install a Web Clipper bookmarklet to add to your browser’s links toolbar.  You can easily note the entire webpage or just the pictures and text that you want to remember.  Think of it as clipping the one article out of the paper that you want to keep.

You can search, save, share and tag your notes to Evernote.  It can even identify words in pictures thorugh the search option.  Watch the video below to see Evernote in action!  Let me know how you use Evernote.

If you are like me, you are in constant “research” mode on the Internet. I find things all the time that I want to make sure I take a closer look at.

I use Evernote to give myself a central place to store these items of interest. One of the best things about Evernote is how easy and flexible it is to use. Sure, you can bookmark a site but then you have bookmarked the entire site (or page as the case may be), with Evernote I can just grab the pieces of information that I need and move on. This is an excellent research and organization tool.
