My Favorite Christmas Songs…The Friends Version Vol. II

I hope you enjoyed the “White Christmas” post from yesterday! I must admit, this is a fun project for a few reasons: 1. I get to connect with friends and 2. I always get to listen to multiple versions of the songs you’ve selected. Artistic style and license makes a difference. Agreed?

Today’s song was recommended by Dave Mullins, from the great state of Kansas. Stephanie Hughes and Anne Weinblatt  both also said they enjoyed this song, as well. Dave said that he likes this song because in his words, “it is the essence of the Nativity story.” I couldn’t agree more, my friend.

The song poses a great question. When Mary was holding her new baby, did she have any idea who or what she was really holding? It’s most certainly a humbling thought.

There are numerous versions of this song, from Kenny Rogers to Clay Aiken. Kutless to Donny Osmond. But, for today, I’m going with the original artist, Mark Lowery. Here he is with a few members of the Gaither Vocal Band, Guy Penrod and David Phelps. Enjoy the tight harmonies as they chime in throughout the song.

I believe I’ve got a few slots left in the month. The responses have been fun to read. I even had someone from outside the U.S. reply yesterday! If you still want to get in on the fun, please fill out the form below.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Friday. I’ll be back tomorrow for more Christmas song fun!
